What personal information Wivanta Africa collects, how we use and protect it, and your rights under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023. Last updated 1 November 2026.

1.Who we are

Wivanta Africa (“Wivanta”, “we”, “us”) is run by Wynerz Talent Brand Management Limited, a company registered in Nigeria (RC 1700233), of 4 Adeboye Solanke, Allen Avenue, Ikeja, Lagos, Nigeria. We decide how your personal information is used, so we are responsible for it (the law calls this the “data controller”).

For anything about your personal information, email [email protected] or [email protected].

2.What we collect

What you tell us:

  • Your account: your name, email address, phone number and password. We never store your actual password, only a scrambled version that can't be turned back into it. We use your phone number only to contact you about your account and your enquiries. If you sign in with Google, Google gives us your name, email address and an ID number for your Google account.
  • Your business: its name, industry, location, website and social media pages, who your customers are, your sales and marketing figures, the channels you use and your goals.
  • Talent enquiries: the creator you ask about, dates, your description, the phone number and email you give for the enquiry, and any brief you upload.
  • Messages you send us, and the names and email addresses of team members you invite.

What we record when you use Wivanta:

  • Payments: amounts, dates, payment references and whether they went through. Paystack handles your card or bank details; we never see or keep them.
  • Your results: health scores, budget plans, reports, saved leads and campaigns.
  • Device and connection details: the address of your internet connection (IP address), the type of phone or computer and browser you use, and records of what happens on our servers. We keep these to run Wivanta and keep it safe.
  • How you use the site, only if you agree: which pages you visit and which steps you complete, linked to a number that identifies your account inside Wivanta. Never your name, email address, what you type or your payment details.

From public places: to prepare market, competitor, lead and creator information, we look at websites and social media pages that anyone can see. We don't buy personal information from data sellers.

3.Why we use it, and what allows us to

The law only lets us use personal information when we have a good reason. Ours are:

  • To give you Wivanta: your account, results, plan, payments and enquiries. Allowed because: it's needed for our agreement with you.
  • To send emails you need, such as confirming your email address, password resets, receipts, renewal notices and replies to your enquiries. Allowed because: it's needed for our agreement with you.
  • To send tips, offers and reminders, including a one-time reminder the day after you sign up if you haven't chosen a plan, only if you ticked the box to receive them. Allowed because: you agreed. You can stop them at any time with the link in every such email.
  • To understand how Wivanta is used and make it better. Allowed because: you agreed, on the notice about counting visits.
  • To keep Wivanta safe, stop fraud and misuse, and fix problems. Allowed because: we have a fair, legitimate need to run a safe, working service.
  • To keep financial records and meet tax, accounting and other legal duties. Allowed because: the law requires it.

4.How AI helps with reports

Some paid features, such as full reports and creator searches, are prepared with the help of artificial intelligence (AI) tools, using the business information you give us and public information. The results are suggestions only: they show where they came from where possible, and you should check them before you rely on them. No computer makes decisions about you on its own that have legal or similarly serious effects on you.

The free plan uses fixed rules only. Nothing you enter on the free plan is sent to AI tools.

5.Companies that help us

We use trusted companies to run Wivanta. They only get the personal information they need, may only use it as we tell them, and must protect it under their contracts with us. They help with:

  • taking payments (Paystack), who handle your card and bank details so we never see them;
  • running our website, servers and database, and keeping backup copies;
  • sending emails, such as account emails, receipts and reminders;
  • live chat with our team (Tawk.to) on paid plans, who see your name, email address and the messages you send;
  • keeping the website fast and protecting it from attacks;
  • signing in with Google, if you choose it;
  • counting visits and the steps people complete (PostHog and Google Analytics), and visits from our adverts (Google Ads, without advertising cookies), only if you agree;
  • telling us when something breaks, with your personal details removed first;
  • artificial intelligence (AI) tools that help prepare paid reports and creator searches (never used on the free plan).

We never sell personal information. We may also share it when the law requires us to, to protect our users or the service, or if our business is sold or reorganised, in which case the new owner must protect it in the same way.

6.If your details appear in Wivanta

Wivanta shows businesses information about possible customers (leads) and creators, gathered from websites and social media pages that anyone can see. If your name, contact details or profile appear in Wivanta and you never signed up, you have the same rights as everyone else: to know what we hold, to correct it, or to ask us to remove it.

Email [email protected] with the details you'd like us to check, and we'll reply within 30 days.

7.Information kept outside Nigeria

Some of the companies that help us, including those that host our servers and keep our backups, store or handle information outside Nigeria, mainly in the United States, the United Kingdom and the European Union. When information leaves Nigeria, we only use protections the Nigeria Data Protection Act allows, such as contracts that make the company protect it as well as Nigerian law would.

8.How long we keep it

  • Your account and business information: while your account is open. If you close it, we delete it, or remove anything that identifies you, within 90 days, apart from what we must keep below.
  • Payment and financial records: 6 years, as Nigerian tax and accounting law requires.
  • Talent enquiries and uploaded briefs: while your account is open, then deleted with it.
  • Records of how you use the site: up to 12 months.
  • Error and security records: up to 90 days.
  • Backup copies: up to 12 months. Older copies are deleted as new ones are made.

9.Your rights

Under the Nigeria Data Protection Act you can ask us to:

  • tell you what personal information we hold about you and give you a copy;
  • correct anything that's wrong or missing;
  • delete it, when we have no reason to keep it;
  • limit how we use it, or stop a use you object to;
  • give it to you, or to another service, in a file you can use;
  • stop something you agreed to, at any time. This doesn't undo what we did before you changed your mind.

Email [email protected] from the email address on your account. We may need to check it's really you, and we'll reply within 30 days. If you're unhappy with our answer, you can complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC).

10.Cookies

We use a few small files in your browser to keep you signed in, and only count visits if you agree. The full list is in our Cookie Policy.

11.How we protect it

Everything sent between you and Wivanta goes over a secure connection (the padlock in your browser). Passwords are scrambled, only staff who need access have it, and our backup copies are locked so only we can open them. We test our security regularly and watch for problems. No online service can be perfectly safe. If a security problem puts your rights at risk, we'll tell the Nigeria Data Protection Commission within 72 hours and tell you as quickly as we can, as the law requires.

12.Age

Wivanta is for people aged 18 and over who use it for business. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you think we have, email us and we'll delete it.

13.Changes to this policy

When we change this policy, we'll post the new version here with a new date and tell you by email or in the app before important changes take effect. Questions? Email [email protected].
